Winter Singles Ladder November Rounds (Nov 1st to Apr 30th)
The CCTC singles ladder welcomes players of any gender or skill level. Although it is competitive in the sense that winning players move up and losing players move down, the primary goal is to have fun and everyone is expected to behave in a friendly way. It is a great way to get some exercise, compete against different game styles, and meet new players!
The ladder is open to any CCTC members. CCTC membership is free and there is no commitment to participate in any other CCTC events. The cost to join the ladder is $10 for each six-month session. By registering, you agree to share your contact information with other players in the ladder, but it will not be posted publicly.
The winter ladder will start on Nov 1st, 2023, and there will be a new draw each month through to the end of Apr 2024. After registering you will be added at the beginning of the next month. The Apr 30th, 2024 date on the listing is the last date for the cycle.
The web site displays April 30th, 2024 as the date for the ladder because our web site software expects events to start and end on the same day. That is the last date for the session but the ladder actually runs for six months.
How it works
Register here and pay online. The fee is $10 for one complete session (May to October for the summer ladder or November to April for the winter ladder).
Each month, players will be placed in a 'box' of four (or possibly three, depending on the number of participants) players of similar skill level. We will e-mail all participants with instructions at the beginning of each month.
Players arrange their own match times and find their own courts with the other players in their box and agree on who will supply the balls. The usual arrangement is that both players bring a set of three new balls, and the winner keeps the unused set.
Best of three sets is recommended; however, if time is limited, players may agree on any other way to determine a winner.
After each match, the winner sends the results of the match by e-mail to vvtcsinglesladder@gmail.com.
At the end of each month, the top player in each box moves up to a higher box, and the bottom player drops to a lower box.
You are able to drop out (due to injury, vacation, or for any other reason) at any time by sending an email to the administrators. You can rejoin later in the session without having to register and pay again.
This format has proven to be a lot of fun and allows players of all skill levels to participate. The only determinant of where you end up is your participation. So, have fun and play your best tennis!

The CCTC also requests that all participants please refrain from wearing scented products on court.
